1. Keep the server up-to-date
# yum update -y
2. Install all required packages:
# yum install java lsof mysql-connector-java
3. Now, download and install Apache Solr

Follow these steps to install Apache Solr 8.5.2
# wget https://mirrors.estointernet.in/apache/lucene/solr/8.5.2/solr-8.5.2.tgz
# tar xzf solr-8.5.2.tgz solr-8.5.2/bin/install_solr_service.sh --strip-components=2
# ./install_solr_service.sh solr-8.5.2.tgz
Once the installation gets completed, verify it by checking the status of the solr service using following command:
# service solr status
To access Apache solr via web browser:
If you unable to access it, check the firewall.
